Surprises all around!

Today has been a great day for playing with paper!  I got some good news, twice!   Apparently, I am the September Sketch winner over in the Newsletter at Fancy Pants!  I am on page 16!  This is the layout that I won with.....

I also won the $100 a Day Creativity Contest over at Scrapbook.com.  Here is that layout, you just saw it yesterday:o)

I feel really honored and blessed to be a part of the opportunities that have been presented to me.  I really enjoy playing with paper and am extremely excited to be sharing my hobby with others that enjoy it too.  I have self doubt.  Question my abilities.  Wonder if others will like it.  It doesn't matter.   I really love it and my son's wife will hate me for all the books she will have to do something with.  But, I don't care:o)  Not sure I am fond of her anyway!  Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you.

Today with Grumpo

I have been waiting for the perfect papers for these photos that I actually printed months ago.  I  love the photos.  One shows how intense my boy is, perfecting his Lego.  Doing Legos with someone is always better than doing them alone.  He seems to always coerce Grampy into doing one with him when he comes to town!

I used my Studio Calico kit, Underground and the add-on, Piccadilly.  I recently cancelled my Project Life subscription to jump on another kit club that I noticed just started.  But, it did not stop me from purchasing an add-on kit.  I always feel like I am going to miss something good if I don't get it:o(  I am a sucker for good advertising, pretty pictures and design team inspiration.
Here are a few close ups....

My boy adores his Grandfather.  They are both very lucky.

Thanks for stopping by.

Minion 2013

Last year for Halloween, Bubba was a minion from the movie Despicable Me.
He was so excited to help pull together the costume.  I had to look long and hard for the mustard hat with matching t-shirt.  To tell you the truth, it was harder to find the shirt than the hat.  $.99 at Target for the cap and way too much for the shirt!  The overalls could only be found in the mens section at Wal-Mart.  We cut 17 feet off of the length for them to fit.  The glasses, well, we found those at Michael's for a buck!  Although they gave him a headache, they were the icing on the cake.
Once I got the cap, we added black pipe cleaners up through the top for hair!!
Flo was a security guard and the creeper in the window, that is just his dad!

Bubba was able to wear the costume a couple places.  To the school fundraiser haunted hay rides and for Trick or Treat.  He walked in to the fundraiser slightly embarrassed until he realized he had the coolest costume there and everyone was talking about it!
I think he could have won the contest, if they would of had one:o)

This year, unfortunately, he does not want to be CUTE.
Guess what that means!!!  You will have to wait and see.
You can bet my layout won't be bright and colorful!

Anyway, this layout!

 I used product from mambi!

Thanks for the Memories - eclectic Paperie

It saddens me to tell you that eclectic Paperie is closing its doors.  I have been designing with Kim for a couple years now.  I taught at her local store, ran the super-fun KOTM and created on her design team.  However, my connection to her and many friends will not end because the store is closing.  We will be gathering for play time and I am hoping that our monthly meetings at Friendly's will still continue.  I am sure we can find something to talk about!  I am bidding farewell over at eP today.  Sharing a few of my favorite projects where I tried to get a little "dirty."  I have also listed the gals names in hopes that people will continue to follow them on their journey.

Thank you for your encouraging comments over at eP.  I will truly miss the daily posts.

Layout re-do

Recently I was sorting my scrapbooking layouts to file them away into their albums.  (I need a new system!)  I came across three in the bunch that I had to ditch!  Like, I am embarrassed by them.  Seriously!  Here is the original stack to be put away. (Minus 3!)

I reprinted two of the photos and created a new layout with product I just received from Paper Issues!

The woodgrain paper and the Thanksgiving theme, made this layout a perfect fit for Paper Issues Current Link Party - Woodn't You Know, with PinkFresh Studio.

Here is a list of product used on this layout:
MME - enamels
Studio Calico - Flair
Gold Spray paint from Michael's

Thanks for Looking!

Oh, one more thing!
We say a recipe on Pinterest that my boy and I just had to try with the leftover spaghetti.  It is awesome!  Just needs a little dipping sauce on the side!

Open Lap - mambi

When I was creating layouts and projects to submit to mambi (me & my BIG ideas) this is one that I designed.  Not sure why I haven't shared it, I think it got lost on the shuffle. I am wondering if this is the layout that got me a spot on the team!  Could it be 11 POCKETPAGES™ all on one layout?  Could it be the color combo?  Or, could it just plain be that SEXY dog, front and center with the big bat ears?  I am thinking that I know the answer!  I hope no one tells me the truth:o)

In case you were wondering, I did have to cut down the size of each card slightly to get them arranged on the layout the way I had envisioned it in my  head.  I used other POCKETPAGES™ and cut out designs that I wanted to back with foam for dimension.  I also used mambiSHAPES and stickers.  A little machine sewing, a few puffy hearts and sequins & enamels completed my page.

WARNING:  if you are visiting my home, DO NOT expose your lap.

Thank you for looking!

North Pole - The Rubber Cafe

Today I have this super simple card featured over at The Rubber Cafe's blog.  I tell you simple, I mean it!  It is white, with more white, with white!  It is clean, simple and snowy! Are you ready for that?

This stamp come from this months Creative Cafe Kit of the Month - Christmas Behind the Scenes. This is the add-on stamp.  Head to the blog to see how the other designers are using this favorite stamp.

Story - Mini Album for Paper Issues

I am so very excited for my first blog posting over at Paper Issues today.
For my first posting there, I thought I would create with all of my new goodies I ordered from Crate Paper - Open Book.  I ordered it ALL.  So when I got it, I had a hard time narrowing it down.  So, to be able to use most of it, or at least my faves, I decide to created this homemade mini album of several "car" photos (Since that is where we spend a ton of time!).  The papers serve as my base pages, cut down to 4x6.

So if you have made it to the bottom, thank you!! Here is a little gift for you.
Enjoy my scrappy peeps. (use code: Mary-Ann)
